great little holiday weekend we had ourselves. SXSW week and Kevin's birthday = lots of fun.
Headed to Austin thursday night, which is always the start of something good.
Friday
breakfast at 24 Diner with a visit with mags, a belgian waffle and a milkshake.
Beat the crowds for the noon show at Waterloo with Frightened Rabbits. BIG CROWD. we kind of were stuck in the middle. But learned a little about the futuristic wallet app, Isis, got some free sunglasses and enjoyed the hustle and bustle.
quickly slid out and had a little break at Lush around the corner, then headed back to meet up with Steven back at Waterloo for Alt J. couldnt get back in, but had a good time hanging out outside the venue watching hipsters get yelled at for climbing on a roof to try to see the waterloo stage, searching for bunnies (kyle told stella some dog food that was left on the ground was bunny poo, of which made her VERY excited), breastfeeding jane in a parking lot on a curb in between 2 cars and surrounded by bikes and hipsters...she fell asleep so was totally worth it.
brought the girls home for a break and mom babysat the rest of the evening so kyle and i could go music exploring...go mom!
saw a second of Youth Lagoon at Red Eyed Fly.
headed to Rainey street, ran into monica and jordan (crazy!) but was so crowded we headed back to mowhawk and saw Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons and Dawes. really talented folks. ate the BEST chicken wings of my life.
Hoboken Pie
saw the most amazing japanese martial arts street show. it was basically the asian version of keira knightley swinging a sword around. awesome stuff.
a failed attempt to see Haim and Youth Lagoon again. too long of lines and too cold so headed home.
Saturday
the day started with a trip to Target, which is always fun and worth noting.
kyle headed out with kevin to see some shows on south congress.
i ran to andersons coffee to refill our depleted coffee supply and a had quick visit with kelli.
met up with everyone at scoot inn for wade's show (mammoth head). high life and raging metal heads is the perfect combination at 4 in the afternoon. #soloudmyearsarestillringing
uchiko birthday dinner for kevin. brussel sprouts, you + me=love.
Sunday
lazy lazy sunday.
epic breakfast made by mom.
lots of patio time and socializing with friends.
stella sustained a minor finger injury, which involved her finger and the front door.
packed up and geared up for a 4 HOUR DRIVE HOME. traffic=the worst.
dinner: schlotskys kids ham and cheese sandwich with sugar cookie and a DP. yes, yes, yes.
TV even ruled sunday night: Girls season finale and walking dead
xo
