Welcome!

mothers day

this weekend was so much fun.  we spent so much time together doing fun things as a family, which is what i really wanted.  i'm so excited for the new baby to be here but i'm also a little sad/anxious about stella's whole world changing.  i know it will be for the better and she is going to love being a big sister and have someone to play with, but for some reason it makes me tear up just thinking about all the changes she is about to endure. this world that rotates purely around her and all her desires is about to be flipped upside down.  in preparation for this baby i have been trying to "train" stella in little ways that will hopefully make my life a little easier when i will have 2 kids.....but then i think, i expect so much from her and she's not even 2.  aaaaanyway, i digress....

friday we met the burdick family at discovery green to see the art cars lined up before the parade.  there was a blues band playing, the biggest bubble machine we have ever seen, and lots of hills for stella to run on.  we got home just before a big thunderstorm and ordered out ninfas fajitas with burt and watched the heart break kid (this movie is one of my biggest guilty pleasures).

we woke up saturday and headed to the farmers market for a little steel drum action and breakfast.  sadly bare bowls wasn't there, but luckily shade was!  stella thought all the berries and fruit on display was free for the taking (like she took handfuls of samples) so we had to buy a pint (or two) of strawberries.

that afternoon we went on a long bike ride with our friends carina and leila and keagan.  we putzed around the heights looking at houses, shopped for bikes for me and kyle, got shakes/fruit juices/snow cones.  the girls got a little potty training (leila more than stella) and learned how to pop-a-squat and the adults got some in some good conversation and exercise.

kyle and i ended the night grilling some summer sausage and talking baby names.

sunday morning was equally fun.  the weather couldn't have been more perfect, almost chilly.  we had an awesome breakfast at downhouse and then spent some time at the park.  kyle then took me to jcrew and let me get whatever i wanted.  best. gift. ever.

that afternoon i went for a pedicure with callie who then had us over for some jump time in the bouncy house.  the girls were adorable.

the gourmet dinner kyle concocted for the evening was hotdogs with potato chips.  its been years since I've had a hotdog and it was awesome.

i love you poops and tweets, thank you for a wonderful mothers day!!
