Stats:
Height: 32.5" (95%)
Weight: 24.6 lbs (85%) - i cant get over that at one time we all weighed 24 lbs! 24 lbs!
Head: 19.02" (97%) - atta girl
we had your 15th month check up this morning. after dropping stella off at school (her NEW school, that we can WALK to...heavens to betsy, this makes me so happy. like yesterday, you were napping and dad came home for lunch, and i (of course) was cleaning. before you know it i had lost track of time and dad was like "ummm, its 1:56, don't you need to pick up stella at 2?" and i was like "holy sheet yes!" and then literally ran down the street to pick her up. and got there by 2. this is fantastic).
so we drop stella off and then meet Kari over at Revival Market for some iced coffee and a quick walk and talk. which was so wonderful. i love how much info 2 women can cover in 45 minutes. the coffee may have helped. either way, i love a spontaneous get together.
so after our walk, we headed to the doctor and found out these amazing stats (all stats for all children are amazing, its just amazing to literally watch you grow). your head size girl.....i'm beyond jealous. you're going to have a Momo-sized head and its not fair (well it is, but i just wish i had a big noggin as well). you were so good, sitting like a dumping on the doctor's table, staring down at the stethoscope as Dr. Shuman listened to your belly and your heart, and from time to time making sweet eyes at her and smiling so big, like you had the funniest inside story with her.
Also! your molars are coming in! little razors in the back-top of your mouth. i discovered these when i saw you munching on your fingers this morning. you've been a champ through all this teething.
so then, after all this check up business out of the way its time for...dun dun DUN...vaccinations. of course you've been just peachy the whole time and willingly lay down on the table for us, all smiles and trusting. and BAM! you get injected with 3 shots. BAM! BAM! BAM! and then tears. poor baby. i feel awful every time we have to get this done. both you girls are so strong and brave about it. and luckily you two are both very food driven so i only have to take out a snack and before long you're completely over the torture.
we headed home listening to Simple Minds - "I Promised You a Miracle" because its the best song ever. when we got home i put on Josh Radin - Closer and rocked you to sleep for a nap. Josh Radin is the best musician for baby songs. each song kind of makes you want to cry, so sweet and sad, and nostalgic for me. I played Josh Radin on repeat when Stella was first born. she was so colic-y and i would put her in the Ergo carrier and poor myself a glass of wine and dance and sway around the room with her singing to her while she cried.
oh! i almost forgot...Dr. Shuman said you are leaps and bounds above your age level at the moment. you have hit all milestones for a 15 month old and almost all the ones for an 18 month old! i've got 2 precocious girls on my hands.
words:
-baby
- belly button
- mama
- lala for "stella"
- dada
- "hop hop hop" for a bunny
- pete
- bubbles
- eyes
- kitty!
- ROAR! like a lion
- "knock knock"
- apple
