i took a quick, solo trip to austin this weekend for one of my most favorite softball coaches retirement party. i saw some very, very old friends that i havent seen in 15 years at least....it was good to rehash old times, as awful as some of those softball memories are. its amazing how much i forget. people, places, games, shopping trips, feelings, etc. that was my life for so many, many years. we lived and breathed softball and now its like it never happened. and, sadly, i've lost my touch for a good ol game of catch. or really, i've lost my aim ((poor olive)). i'm so glad i went, my new train of thought is to take these moments to celebrate the good times, and give them the same weight and magnitude and priority you would a funeral. otherwise, you only end up rehashing the good-ol times at the saddest of events, and really, who wants to do that.
heres to you Hearts of Texas and all the good times.
