in an act of complete spontaneity, we joined kyle's parents at The Galvestonian last sunday - tuesday for a quick vacation. The condos were a hit, we had 2 balconies overlooking the ocean, were upgraded to a 2 bedroom condo for free and got a free night. deal. of. the. century. If only we could have no seaweed and white sands...but i wont complain. galveston, you're alright.
it was fun laying low and hanging out. nowhere to go, nothing to really do (except of course keep the kiddos (aka stella) in line...the terrible threes are upon us. bigger and badder than the terrible twos. people were not lying when they warned me.).
this is a quick clip of some time we spent at the beach. stella, you loved loved loved knocking down sand castles. dad spent so much time building them and you would come through like godzilla and in one fell swoop destroy the whole thing. you also loved the swimming pool. we tried the hot tub and you adored it (of course) but we got kicked out...apparently its not safe for kids under 6 to be in hot tubs (who knew!?).
jane, you were a funny bunny, not entirely a fan of the sand. it took you a good 30 minutes to warm up to the feeling of it on your feet. but you loved watching the seagulls and "ca-ca-ing" at them. none of us really got in the water too much, the seaweed and wind were a bit too much...but nothing beats that roar of the ocean. i was glad to hear it.
