i have revolted against the word playdate for so long...i know its a perfect description for what it is but it really does give me a gag reflex when i hear it. it just sounds so scheduled and forced. like, "i'm scheduling time for you to play"...i mean you're a kid, arent you playing all day long anyway? and lets be real, this "playdate" is really for the moms....either to get rid of the kids for a few hours or to use this time to socialize with other mom-friends.
i'm trying to figure out a better way to say it...friendtime?
anyway, friendtime happened at our house yesterday afternoon and, boooy, was it fun. 5 little 2-year-olds running around the house jumping on beds, and 3 babies sitting on my kitchen floor. we ladies partook in a bottle (or 2) of wine and unleashed our word vomit on each other.
kyle had a work thing until late last night so it was just me and the girlies the rest of the night, luckily this friendtime wore them out and both were alseep by 7:30. this left me to finish off the wine and watch a slew of my favorite movies (overboard and love actually were on at the same time!....then i saw bull durham...how have i never realized kevin costner was so hot? i mean i kind of can't get over it)
high five friday night, you were a good one.
