Welcome!

Happy 5 years

my, where does the time go...5 years already!?  5 years, 2 dogs, 1 house, 1 kitty and 2 chiclets. we are quite the handful now.

we celebrated like an old married couple would and saw Huey Lewis and Joe Cocker at the Pavillion.  Kyle surprised me with 3rd row seats!!! it was amazing in so many ways.  i spent a good portion of the concert propped up against the stage with a big smile on my face.  Seeing Joe Cocker sing the wonder years song within a few feet from me is a moment i will never forget.  that man is old, but he has still got it.  same with Huey (that name makes me giggle every time).  these guys live and breathe the blues, its so refreshing to see it, makes you feel like there is still good music being produced out there...somewhere....[ALSO! the scene!!  the crowd!!  unbelievable stuff happening, lots of balding men (i'm not kidding, like everyone we saw) wearing tiva sandals WITH SOCKS(!) some sort of jean or cargo short and a tommy bahama shirt.  THEN! a couple came up to the stage to dance and it was the worst dancing i have ever seen!!!  so bad it was awesome.  my eyes were glued to them for a good 10 minutes.  i'm pretty sure the guy (who looked like Guy Fieri) was tap dancing (off rhythm of course) and the woman's elbows were glued to her hips and she swayed and swayed and swayed.  incredible stuff]

what was even more amazing was we went to the concert sans kiddos!  my first real time out with jane!!  we drank and talked uninterrupted for a full 4 hours, huzzah!!!!  however, i do have to say that when we got home i basically sprinted through the door to see Jane, i really missed my little nuggets. its funny, i used to think i need a week-long vacation to unwind, but now if i can get a good 30 minutes of alone time, i will be set for days (not to say that i will never take a vacation, just amazing how my mentality has changed).

we spent sunday basically in our jammies all day.  I made us a lumberjack breakfast using Emeril's Belgian Waffle recipe and crisped up some bacon in the oven (place a cooling rack on a cookie sheet, lay the bacon on the cooling rack and cook at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.  perfectly crisped bacon!), kyle watched the british open, stella and i played cars and stickers, i FINALLY got the birth announcements out (thanks Brooke!) and watched true blood.

it has been a blissful 5 years to say the least.  I have changed so much in ways i never would have imagined (kids will do that to you i suppose), met so many amazing friends and have learned so much through this marriage...i wonder what i will be saying at 10 years!!

to the love of my life, you are the most handsome and honest man i know, i'm so lucky to have found you!!!

xo
